Mark Albrecht Studio
Visiting the Mark Albrecht Studio is like touring Santa’s workshop. An assortment of raw steel and leather, all in various stages of production, wait to be transformed into the seating and other eye catching furnishings bearing the Studio's signature look. These materials will make their way from hand to hand of the cadre of skilled craftsmen working under the discerning eye of Mark himself. The designs have garnered the attention of some of the biggest names in architecture and design, including: Charles Gwathmey, Paul and Peter Bentel (catch Mark's bar stools at MOMA’s Bar Room), Ralph Lauren and Hariri and Hariri. Here are a few reasons why (other than the pure beauty):
- The designs are absolutely intelligent. Mark doesn't leave one pebble unturned when designing a perfectly functional piece.
- Every minute detail is considered: from the height of the leg rest, radius on the backrest, to the tension of the leather.
- Craftsmanship is taken to a new level. Turn it upside down, the underbelly is as elegant as the top. Made to last!
